Wellness Box Prep

Purpose: As part of a team of volunteers, choppers prepare and pack chopped produce once a month for Wellness Box orders.


• Handles food gently and hygienically
• Works with a team of volunteers to sort fruits and vegetables into individual orders
• Washes, peels, slices and/or chops certain designated fruits and vegetables
• Uses caution and safe techniques while working with or near tools such as knives
• Portions and packs cut produce into plastic baggies, then arranges these into boxes
• Assists with set-up and clean-up 

• Able to commit 3-5 hours per month
• Comfortable working as part of a team of volunteers in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable doing food preparation and comfortable in a kitchen setting
• Reliable and punctual
• Physically able to bend and do light lifting (10-15 lbs) for 4-5 hours
• Experience with food preparation a big asset
• General interest in food, health and community is an asset

Timeframe: Third week of every month, Tuesday (1pm - 5pm)

Site: Sudbury Food Bank Warehouse, 1105 Webbwood Drive (off Lorne Street)

Transportation: Bus tickets provided upon arrival or use of your own vehicle

Reporting Relationship: Wellness Box Preppers/Packers report to the Wellness Box Leader
